Aznar Sánchez of Gascony
Aznar Sánchez ( † 836 ) was a Count of Gascony in the early 9th century.
Aznar is sometimes with the Count of Aragón, I. Aznar Galíndez equated. However, it has a dated around the year 835 document in which he placed under the Abbey of Pessan the village Cazaux, the son of Sancho from ( Comite Azenario - Sancio ). Aznar is known as " Count of worldly Vasconien " ( Asenarius quoque citerioris Wasconiae ) denotes that his immediate overlord, King Pepin I of Aquitaine, rebelled in 836 and therefore died a cruel death. However, his brother Sancho could succeed even against the will of Pippin in Gascony him.
