Azərbaycan marşı

Azərbaycan Marsi ( Azerbaijani "March of Azerbaijan " ) is since 1992 the national anthem of Azerbaijan.

History

The song was written in 1919 and became the national anthem of the recently founded Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, and remained so until the integration of Azerbaijan as the Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic in the Soviet Union 1920. 's New National Anthem in 1944, the anthem of Azerbaijan SSR. After independence, the old anthem was used from 27 May 1992. The melody comes from Üzeyir Hacıbəyov, the text of Ahmed Javad.
