Azusa is an American city in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. It has about 47,600 inhabitants ( as of 2004). The city is located at the geographic coordinates 34.14 ° N, 117.91 ° West. The metropolitan area has a size of 23.1 km ².

The city's name comes from the name the Native Americans gave the country: Asuksa - gna.

Azusa houses since 1992, the Dhammakaya International Meditation Center, the first representative of the Buddhist Dhammakaya sect outside of Thailand. Since 2003, here is also the seat of their correspondence university called Dhammakaya Open University.

Azusa is home to the private university Azusa Pacific University.
