Azza Besbes

Azza Besbes (Arabic عزة بسباس; born 28 November 1990) is a Tunisian saber fencer.

Besbes trained in France at the Cercle d' escrime d'Orléans. First ranking points they collected in the spring of 2006, with rank 27 at the Junior World Championships in Taebaek. The following year, they had already reached the fifth place in the same event in Belek and was three months later in Algiers Second the Pan-African Games.

In April 2008, she was African champion in Casablanca. As a best-placed African athlete in the world rankings, she qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. There came the 17 -year-old was the first African athlete ever in the history of the Olympic Damenfechtens the quarter-finals, where they defeated narrowly 14:15 US -American Rebecca Ward.

At the World Championships 2010 in Paris she reached the seventh place at the World Championships 2011 in Catania in ninth place. In 2012 she again took part in the Olympic Games in London, she lost in the second round against Dagmara Wozniak from the USA 13:15 and finished ninth.

2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, they were each re- Africa champion.
