Azzan bin Qais, Sultan of Muscat and Oman

Azzan ibn Qays (Arabic عزان بن قيس, DMG ʿ Azzan b Qais, . † January 30, 1871 ) was Sultan of Muscat and Oman and Imam from 1868 to 1871.

Azzan was descended from a branch of the Said dynasty. During the power struggles after the division of the kingdom under Thuwaini ibn Said (1856-1866) succeeded him in 1868 the conquest of Muscat and the fall of Salim ibn Thuwaini ( 1866-1868 ). Azzan was the first time since 1783, re-elected to the Imam of the Ibadis. Despite the election of the Imam he could not permanently stabilizing his rule.
