B minor

B minor is a key of Tongeschlechts minor, based on the root h. The key of B minor is written in the notation of two sharps ( F sharp, cis). The corresponding scale and the basic chord in this key ( the tonic hd- fis ) are designated by the term B minor.
In English, the key is referred to as b minor, so it gets in the entertainment music also often the chord symbol and b Bm (see also Note labels in other languages ).
Many composers of the Baroque period and later (about Beethoven and Schubert) associates this key with darkness and death; but cf also the article key character. Beethoven is said to have called it " black key " ( he worked on a B-minor symphony ). Also the sound h often represents death ( Schubert: " The Beautiful Miller ", " Winter Journey" ).
