London City Airport

BA Connect was a British regional airline owned by British Airways, based in London and based at London City Airport.

History

BA Connect was founded in 1970 as Brymon Airways in Plymouth.

1993 Brymon Airways British Airways acquired and merged in 2002 with British Regional Airlines British Airways CitiExpress. Later, City Flyer Express has been integrated into the new airline.

2006, the airline was renamed BA Connect. In addition, we switched to a low-cost business model, with the exception of flights to London City Airport. At that time flew BA Connect from Birmingham, Bristol, London City Airport and Manchester to European and domestic destinations English.

The end of 2006 it was decided to sell BA Connect to the great British regional airline Flybe, British Airways in return received 15 % of Flybe. In addition, the parent company of British Airways took over all Avro RJ100 of BA Connect, which eventually were utilized in BA City Flyer. Much concern prepared the flights to Scotland, but Flybe stated it would expand on the routes on. A year later, Flybe found that the old BA Connect routes were not profitable and so started the last flights from Bristol on 24 March 2007.

Objectives

BA Connect offered for British Airways on their behalf and branding regional and commuter flights to domestic and European destinations. A special focus was on the London City Airport.
