Baal-hamon

Baal - Hammon, a form of the name Baal is a god of the Phoenicians and Carthaginians.

He was in an inscription from the late Hittite / Aramaean city Sam'al (now Zincirli ) was first mentioned. The name means " Lord of the incense ." He was the chief god of Carthage, where his cult was also exported to Sicily and Malta. He was in North Africa, particularly as a fertility god. As evidence of this is that Baal - Hammon was appended the epithet Frugifer in Roman times. In Sicily and Africa may have been child sacrifice part of his cult, although this was now unlikely due to historical finds. His name is similar to that of the Egyptian god Amun oasis. Therefore, it is believed that he was an oracle of God.

He was equated by the Greeks with Cronus and by the Romans with Saturn.
