Baba-Ghassem-Mausoleum

The Baba - Ghassem Mausoleum (Persian آرامگاه باباقاسم, IPA: ɑɾɑmɡɑh ɛ bɑbɑ qɑsɛm ) is a historic mausoleum in Isfahan, Iran. The mausoleum dates from the 14th century and is known for its beautiful mihrab and its dome. It is located north of the Friday Mosque of Isfahan. In the Safavid era, some repairs and improvements were carried out at the mausoleum.

Baba Ghassem was a famous Faqih in Isfahan. One of his followers built the Emamieh school for him as Baba Ghassem was alive. After the death of Baba Ghassem he built the mausoleum for him. The tomb has decorative tiles and ceramic tiles. The dome of the mausoleum is pyramidal. The mausoleum was formerly very honored, so that the residents around him an oath swearing it if they wanted to prove that they were telling the truth. On the lower part of the dome was written with the font bannaischen one of the names of Allah.
