Babar: The Movie

Babar - The Movie is a Canadian- French animated film from the year 1989 It was produced by the studio Nelvana Limited, Ellipse programs and Odessa film.. The premiere took place in the USA on 28 July 1989. In Germany the film was released in 1991 on video and in 2008 on DVD. The film is based on the children's books about Babar by Jean de Brunhoff and his son Laurent.

Action

The elephant country, a great procession takes place every year. On the eve of the procession Babar tells his kids how he as a young elephant the village of Celeste, his current wife, in front of the rhino king Rataxes and his army was protecting and ended the war between elephants and rhinoceros.

Criticism

The lexicon of the International film said that the animated film " Although still child-friendly entertainment" offer, had " but a part of the charm of the original the big screen " sacrificed. The characters were " somewhat coarser developed " and " the linguistic subtleties that distinguish the series ," were " lost ".
