Babette Cole

Babette Cole ( born September 10, 1949 at Jersey, UK) is a British children's book author and illustrator

After studying art in Kent at Canterbury College of Art, she worked from 1973 at the BBC. They recorded for several series in the children's television program. Her first book she published in 1976. Unlike other picture book illustrators she writes her stories themselves

Cole treated in their storybooks issues such as education, divorce, fears, and even the meaning of life in a child-friendly and humorous manner, often with crazy -looking images and text. Her illustrations are characterized by restrained color and wit. So far, more than seventy books have been published about her.
