Baby Ford

Peter Ford, better known as Baby Ford, is a British DJ and music producer, and was instrumental in the development of acid house. He also published under various pseudonyms, such as Cassino Classix, El Mal, Solcyc and Simprini Risin.

Life

Ford was influenced by the musician Marshall Jefferson, Ron Trent, Armando, and Larry Heard from Chicago. He was a founder of the Acid House movement in the UK club scene. His first release appeared on the record label Rhythm King and included the club tracks and Chikki Chikki Ahh Oochy Koochy Ahh. Both tracks were mixed in different variations and were strongly influenced by the burgeoning acid house scene.

The second album Ooh the World of Baby Ford, which included three singles, was with Children of the Revolution the most successful. Thus he managed a worldwide club hit.

With the BFORD9 album in 1992 he broke new ground and was based more on minimal techno, which he varied with trance influences. By working with Mark Broom, he deepened his experience in the minimalist electronic dance music. As a result, the CD " Ifach Vol 1 " was released. Together with Klaus and Jochen Bader Kotai the project Birds, which released a single and an album on the label PAL SL was founded in 1997. With Kotai he published in 2000 under the name Midnight Caller an EP on Electric Music Department.

In his career, he has published on various record labels such as Sire or insumisión / Transglobal. He was also involved in the management of both labels Trelik Records and Ifach Records. "Ford Trax " was included in the list Wire The Wire 's " 100 Records That Set The World On Fire (While No One Was Listening ) ".
