Baby M

Baby M ( born March 27, 1986) is the name of a child in an American custody process. The trial was conducted between the surrogate who had been engaged to discharge the child and the biological father of the child.

Mary Beth Whitehead, the surrogate mother was artificially inseminated with the sperm of William Stern. Contrary to popular belief (and contrary to what was in the contract for surrogacy ) was Stern's wife Elizabeth did not barren, but there was the possibility that she had multiple sclerosis and could be paralyzed by the pregnancy temporarily.

On March 27, 1986 Mary Beth Whitehead gave birth to a daughter, whom she named Sara Elizabeth Whitehead and refused to hand them over to the star. A court in New Jersey said the star's 1987 custody of Melissa ( as they called the child ) to. This judgment was amended by the Supreme Court of New Jersey on February 2, 1988: William Stern was awarded custody and Mary Beth Whitehead visitation rights.
