Band History

BTO was the band Brave Belt, which was in 1970 by Randy Bachman and Chad Allan (from The Guess Who), Robbie Bachman and CF "Fred" Turner founded. Originally, Keith Emerson of The Nice, though he dropped due to illness. After two moderately successful albums, Allan was replaced by Tim Bachman, the third of the Bachman brothers. The band's name was changed based on the same truck magazine in Bachman -Turner Overdrive. Their first album with the same name was released in 1973.

The next album, Bachman -Turner Overdrive II was a great success in the United States and Canada. It contained the hit Takin ' Care of Business, which among other things was used in 12 films.

Tim Bachman left the group to work as a producer and was replaced by Blair Thornton. The next album Not Fragile was released in 1974, it contained the number 1 hit You Is not Seen Nothin ' Yet. The next albums were Four Wheel Drive and Head On, both from 1975.

After release of the album Freeways (1977 ) Randy Bachman left the band to begin a solo career and worked with the band Iron Horse. The remainder of BTO published further, not very successful albums and eventually broke up.

In the 1980s, two reunited band went on tour, one under the name Bachman -Turner Overdrive ( with Randy Bachman ), the other as BTO ( with Robbie Bachman ). In the Simpsons episode A horse for the family, they had a guest appearance. In the meantime, play Randy Bachman and Fred Turner as a duo Bachman & Turner back together, for example, on the Sweden Rock Festival 2010.

On 3 November 2010 Jim Clench died in Montreal from lung cancer. He was for a time been the band's bassist since 1975 and had previously played, and after 1992 in April Wine.
