Backlot

As Backlot, any area in or near a film studio, to be erected on the exterior sets.

All kinds of venues are in this case depending on the requirements of the production, installed and used for the filming. It often only the facades are built in house fronts missing such as a rear wall and the interior entirely. For indoor shooting is then according to other sets which are not built on the Backlot, resorted to.

With a Digital Backlot actors are recorded in front of a blue screen or green screen. Only the simplest objects are actually filmed except the actors. The remainder is then added digitally.
