Backsword

Backword or Broadsword is derived from England, used by collectors term for military swords which were equipped with a wide, heavy, double-edged blade and were produced before the time of the industrial mass production. The term primarily affected the swords with a full, strong basket like the Scottish Highlands swords or the Italian Schiavona. The literal translation Broadsword is wrong. Back Words are swords with einschneidiger, straight blade.
