Bacteriome

As Bakteriom is called in biology special organs ( or parts of organs or cells ) in which symbiotic bacteria live. Special cells for such a purpose is known as Bakteriozyten.

Thus, the psylla Pachypsylla venusta in his abdomen contains such Bakteriom, ( just the Bakteriozyten ) bacteria of the species Carsonella ruddii endosymbionts in the in specific cells. The tsetse fly contains a Bakteriom in front midgut.

In humans and many animals the intestine is considered Bakteriom, there also live in it bacteria in a symbiotic relationship with the host.
