Bacteriuria

As bacteriuria, usually called asymptomatic bacteriuria, in medicine, the asymptomatic excretion of bacteria is called in the urine. Normally, the urine formed by the kidneys is an aseptic (sterile ) liquid. Especially in women but bacteria can ascend through the short and straight running urethra into the bladder and multiply there in the warm and nutrient-rich milieu well. Only when the immune system reacts to the invaders and tries to eliminate these, inflammation occurs with the symptoms of a urinary tract infection such as fever, pain during urination and frequent urination. Since asymptomatic bacteriuria is still no infection, it needs only for pregnant women ( risk of acute pyelonephritis 25-50 %) and to be treated prior urological surgery.
