Bad Kleinen

Bad little ( to 1915 Little ) is a municipality in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern on the north shore of Lake Schwerin. It is administered by the Office Mecklenburg- bath small, located in the municipality of the village of Mecklenburg.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the northern shore of Lake Schwerin, the fourth largest lake of Germany, about halfway between the state capital Schwerin and Wismar. West of bath small rises a Endmoränenbogen along the Lake Schwerin, which overlooks the lake level up to 40 m. About the west of the local part mustards located Lostener Lake Lake Schwerin is ( by the municipality leads ) connected to the Bay of Wismar by the Wallenstein ditch. Another lake is located between the districts of Niendorf and Hoppenrade.

History

Little was in a document by Pope Alexander III in 1178. mentioned for the first time. Importance was the place as a railway junction. In 1848 got little ones a rail connection. The physician Dr. Armin Steyer Thal opened in 1895 hydropathic establishment on Lake Schwerin. 1915 was the place the additional name "Bad " award.

On 27 June 1993, it was attempted during a police operation in Bad little to arrest the members of the RAF and Wolfgang Grams Birgit Hogefeld. In the course of the action, there was an exchange of fire in which the GSG -9 officer Michael Newrzella and Wolfgang Grams were mortally wounded.

• The eggs tunnel is a pedestrian tunnel in 1896, passing underneath the railway lines Schwerin - bath small and Lübeck- bath small and produces an access to the shore of Lake Schwerin.
• The Swedes Jump is northeast of the town, near the Lake Schwerin and is a star-shaped fortification from the 17th century.
• The station was known in 1993 during a police operation against the RAF members Hogefeld and Grams.
• Manor House ( mansion, castle ) in Hoppenrade: A two-storey, brick building differentiated neo-Renaissance from 1853 with a tower and some with mezzanine floor; 1928-1997 nursing home, after 1997 the house and apartments.

Bad Little is within reach of the motorway A 20 (Lübeck -Stettin ) and the northern part of the piece A 14 (triangle Schwerin Wismar ). From the South (from Schwerin ) and from the north ( from the direction of Wismar ) the place on the federal road 106 is achievable.

The bath small station has the Friedrich- Franz Railway one of the most important railway junctions in Mecklenburg. Here the railway lines cross to and from Rostock ( railway Hagenow -Rostock ), Schwerin, Wismar ( railway Ludwigslust -Wismar ) and Lübeck (Lübeck - Kleinener railway); the routes to Wismar, Rostock and Schwerin are electrified. The Importance of the railroad (eg depot and other services ) for small bathroom you can still see the extensive railway land and the representative station building today. The town coat of arms includes the impeller, a symbol of the railway.

Personalities

• Till Lindemann ( singer and lyricist of the band Rammstein ) grew up in the district of Wendish Rambow.
• Gottlob Frege ( mathematician, logician and philosopher) died in 1925 in Bad kids.
• Wolfgang Scharenberg (lawyer and notary, mayor ) died in 1969 in Bad kids.
