Bad Schandau Elevator

The elevator Bad Schandau is a 1904 erected in Bad Schandau elevator that leads from Bad Schandau to the Ostrava disc. The local Rudolf Sendig Hotelier proposed the construction of and financed him from his personal assets.

During the First World War, the operation of the system was adjusted. 1921, the drive of the passenger elevator on three-phase was changed, for emergency remained a hand crank. 1950 a traction sheave carrier was installed. In 1961, installation of two additional guy ropes, and in 1978 a new control. In 1989/ 90, the plant, which was declared a National Monument in 1954, was renovated.
