Badachu

Eight Great Temples (Chinese八大处, Pinyin bādàchǔ, as Badachu Park known) is a secluded mountain park on the western outskirts of Beijing.

History

The system consists of eight Buddhist temples from the Ming (明朝, 1368-1644 ) and Qing dynasties (清朝, 1644-1911 ). The park's centerpiece is the Lingguangsi (灵光寺), a pagoda temple, which has to exhibit remarkable wall reliefs in addition to the big pagoda. Besides temples and bowers of the park also offers rare old trees, some of which 6 are centuries old. From the park, a funicular railway to the top of the hill.
