Baden III b

The vehicles of the type III b were passenger steam locomotives of the Grand Ducal Baden State Railways. In this genus the Grand Ducal Baden State Railway ranked a rebuilt locomotives of the genera III and IIIa.

Of the types III and Baden Baden III a, 70 machines 1881-1891 were rebuilt. Here, in all a new, more efficient boiler dreischüssiger with greater grate area were installed. Because this was longer than the Erstkessel, so had to be extended in the framework of the III, IIIa in it was enough to grow a front buffer beam.

The boiler had a firebox of the type Belpaire with moderately elevated ceiling. A large steam dome sat on the rear boiler shot.
