Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim

The Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim is the concert and opera orchestras at the Stadttheater Pforzheim.

History

The Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim was founded in 1930 by 50 unemployed by the world economic crisis musicians as " Symphony Orchestra Pforzheim " and initially funded by radio recordings for the Süddeutsche Rundfunk Stuttgart and engagements as Kurorchester in various health and spa cities of the northern Black Forest region.

In 1940, the orchestra went on to urban hand and received the title "Urban Orchestra Pforzheim ". Since it is established at the Stadttheater Pforzheim. There the orchestra in all of opera and operetta productions of the house as well as in a large part of the musical and ballet productions is present. Since 1959, the orchestra also monitored in the "Cities Opera Southwest " the performances of the Pforzheimer opera companies during his guest appearances in numerous Baden-Württemberg cities without their own theater. In the town hall Pforzheim, the orchestra has its own concert series.

On October 18, 2009, the orchestra was renamed in " Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim ". With only 42 posts in the Baden Philharmonic is one of the smallest professional orchestra in the Federal Republic.
