Originally three sets were played to 15 points ( except women's singles - to 11 points), with only the serving party was able to score.

Squash

As in badminton is counted in points and sets also on the squash court. Likewise, each party made ​​in an error of the opponent a point, regardless of the right to serve. The first player who scores 11 points wins the set. With the score at 10:10, however, a two-point distance must be established to win the set (eg 12:10, 13:11, 14:12, etc.). A border at the top, there is not. The game is won when the first player has chosen three sets for itself ( " best of five "). There are also competitions in which the income of two sets is sufficient ( " best of three ").

Tennis

In tennis, the game ( "Match" ) in sets and the sets ( "sets" ) turn in games ( "Games " ) is divided. A sentence is terminated when the first player has won six games. An exception is the score of 6-5 sets. In the case of the leading players must win a seventh game to decide the sentence itself, the final score would thus be 7:5. Can the opponent compensate for 6:6, called a tie-break is played. This winner is the player who scored the first seven points. From a score of 6:6, a two -point distance must be achieved in order to win the set (eg, 8:6 ).

Table tennis

Winner of the game is who has won the first three sentences. A fifth set, also called decision or set tie-break will be played to fifteen points or also with at least two points difference. Moreover, in this last sentence, the teams change sides after the first team reaches eight points.

In some competitions, especially in the youth field, is only played on two winning sets ( " best of three "). The third movement is a decisive set so carried out as described above for the fifth set.

In beach volleyball is played on two winning sets ( " best of three "). A set ends after 21 points, the third after 15 - but always with at least two points difference.
