BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film

British Academy Film Award: Best Animated Feature ( Best Animated film ) winners and nominees for Best Animated Feature ( Best Animated Movie ) since it was first presented at the British Academy Film Awards ( BAFTA Awards) in 2007, the year before had. the animated film Wallace & Gromit - on the hunt for the giant rabbits for Best British film enforced against Real films such as the Constant Gardener or pride and Prejudice. Also in 2007, led the competing Golden Globe Awards such a category new one.

Since the introduction of the price category of the BAFTA - winner was always awarded the Oscar in the same category. The most successful animation studio is Pixar, whose films have won awards between 2008 and 2011 and 2013 five times.

A film qualifies, provided that this is essentially animated over the majority of its running time and has a significant number of animated main characters. The award will be given at the discretion of the BAFTA Film Committee, provided that at least eight contributions are welcome. Awards are usually the directors, which received a nomination in accordance with the current regulations only two people per film. In contrast to the rest of the film categories no more than three nominations will be awarded. Theoretically animinierte movies can be nominated for Best film with real movies, but this has not yet occurred.
