Bagirmi (also Baguirmi; own name: ɓarma ) is the language of the people Baguirmi from Chad and belongs to the Nilo-Saharan language family of languages.

It was the official language of the Sultanate of Baguirmi. This language was still spoken by 44 761 1993 Talk, mainly in the Chari- Baguirmi Prefecture.

Baguirmi was declared a literary language, and texts the basic literacy providieren were funded through the efforts of Don and Orpha Raun, which appeared late in their Chadian career during the 1990s. A font to support the Baguirmi alphabet, and a Keymn input for Latin -based keyboards have been developed by Anthony Kimball in 2003, and the body of published literature Baguirmi begins to expand. The majority of this literature is in Chad by David Raun by low cost spread, as a service for the Baguirmi - speaking peoples of the Chad.
