Bahrain at the Olympics

The Bahrain Olympic Committee was established in 1978 and incorporated in 1979 by the International Olympic Committee.

Of medals won

In the Summer Olympic Games in 2008, Rashid Ramzi won although the 1500 -meter run and overtook the first Olympic medal for Bahrain. On 29 April 2009, however, confirmed the National Olympic Committee of Bahrain that Ramzi has tested positive for post- doping samples that have been taken during the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008 on the EPO- CERA means. Also in the B Sample CERA was found. On 18 November 2009, Ramzi was officially stripped of his gold medal.
