Bahraini Premier League

The Bahraini Premier League is the top division in Bahraini football under the supervision of the Bahrain Football Association. The competition was first held in 1957. In the 2008 / 09 season, the number of participating teams comprised of 19 teams, after 2008, the highest and second highest league had been merged. All teams played this season only once each against each other at the end of the season to identify those ten clubs which formed the new Premier League. The last nine teams this table played in 2009/10 in the second league, the Second Division. Since there is between the two leagues a direct climber or relegated and a qualification game between two other teams.

The Muharraq club with 31 league titles not only giants, but also currently the winner of the AFC Cup. Champion and runner-up qualify directly for the AFC Cup.

Mode

The ten participating teams in the Bahraini Premier League come two times per season in a home and away game against each other. The championship is thus decided by only 18 game days. The game is played from late September to early June of the following year.
