Bahuvrihi

Bahuvrihi ( बहुव्रीहि bahuvrihi " possessing much rice " ) is a term derived from the Sanskrit grammar, which denotes a particular type of compound. In linguistic terminology, a bahuvrihi is a Possessivkompositum, representing a compound exozentrisches. Its importance is not equal to the sum of the importance of the individual members, but it means a special characteristic feature which carries the speaker.

Bahuvrihi formations can be personalized with a " have " rewrite - Construction: A robin is a bird that has a red throat, and is referred to later. The eponymous example bahuvrihi consists of bahu (much) and vrihi ( rice), but is composed not just " a lot of rice " but means someone who has a lot of rice, is a rich man.
