Baingoin County

Baingoin ( Tib: dpal mgon rdzong, Tibetan: དཔལ་མགོན་རྫོང, also: Pelgön ) is a county of the district of Nagqu in Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.

Geography and climate

Baingoin has an area of ​​28,383 km ². The circle lies on the Nam Co, the largest salt lake in Tibet and the second largest salt lake in China (after the Qinghai Lake ).

The name of the circle is a phonetic approximation of " Drangkhog " - the Drangkhog ( Tib: brang khog mtsho / Bange CuO班 戈 错) is another salt lake in Baingoin. It is located at 4,522 meters above sea level and has an area of 54 km ².
