Balanga, Bataan

Balanga ( officially: City of Balanga, Filipino: Lungsod ng Balanga ) is a Philippine city in the province of Bataan. Balanga is the capital of the province. The inhabitants are called Balangueños. The Bataan National Park and the mountain Natib lie to the west of the city.

History

Balanga was formerly a Visita ( subordinate mission station ) of Abucay before it was transformed by the Order Chapter of the Dominican Order on April 21, 1714 an independent mission. Later, on April 18, 1739 Balanga became a vicariate under the protection of Joseph.

After the founding of the province of Bataan in 1754, Balanga was declared by General Pedro Manuel Arandia due to its favorable location in the center of the newly established province to the capital.

The word Balanga is the Tagalog word Banga for " clay pot " back that were produced in the place.

Balanga was collected in 2000 from a township to a city. Even before that stretched the outskirts to the west to Bataan Provincial Expressway (also Roman Super Highway) out of. A new growth center in Baranggay Tuyo was enshrined in the global land use plan (Comprehensive Land Use Plan).

Balanga is located at the junction No. 30 on the toll Bataan Provincial Expressway (Roman Super Highway), which connects the province of Bataan with the other provinces in Central Luzon.
