Bald Knob is a place in White County in the U.S. state of Arkansas with 3,210 inhabitants ( 2000). The place is known as one of the leading strawberry producer in the state.
Geography
Bald Knobs geographical coordinates are 35 ° 19 ' N, 91 ° 34' W35.311666666667 - 91.57 ( 35.311535, 91.569951 ). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has an area of 11.8 km ², of which 11.6 km ² of land and 0.2 km ² omitted ( = 1.32 %) to water.
Bald Knob is located directly on the U.S. Highways 67 and 167 and is connected through them to the capital of Little Rock.
Demography
At the time of the census of 2000, there were Bald Knob 3210 people. The population density was 276.0 people per km ². There were 1395 housing units at an average 120.0 per km ². The population consisted of 89.91 % White, 6.07 % African American, 0.62 % Native American, 0.59 % Asian, 0.03 % Pacific Islander, 1.21 % reported from other races and 1.56 % from two or more races. 3.18 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
