Balder (roller coaster)

Balder at Liseberg ( Gothenburg, Sweden) is a wooden roller coaster on the model wooden coaster manufacturer Intamin, which was opened on 12 April 2003.

It was built for the 80th anniversary of the park as a replacement for the 1987 closed wooden roller coaster " Bergbanan ". Balder sparked Colossos from pure steepest wooden roller coaster in the world, although Colossos was listed until 2005 in the Guinness Book of World Records. In 2006, she was in turn replaced by El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure (USA). The web has a track length of 1030 m and a maximum height of 36 m. The hourly capacity is about 1,100 people.

Balder has two trains with five cars. In each carriage six people ( three rows of two people) take place.

Awards

In the inaugural year in 2003 and 2005 won the Balder Internet Wood Coaster Poll, a Fanauszeichnung for the best wooden roller coaster in the world.

2004 the park for the roller coaster with the New Price " FKF Award 2003" Friends of the Fairground and Amusement Parks was awarded eV.
