Baldringen

Baldringen is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Kell am See.

Geographical location

Baldringen located in the Natural Park Saar -Hunsrück about nine kilometers west of Kell am See, near the meeting point of national roads 268 (Trier -Saarbrücken ) and 407 ( Hunsrückhöhenstraße ) in decays.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1036, gave as provost Albero at St. Paulin the Abbey of St. Matthias Trier goods in Baldringen.

The place belonged to the late 18th century to the Official Saar castle in the Electorate of Trier.

After the 1792 French Revolutionary troops had occupied the left bank of the Rhine and incorporated after the peace of Campo Formio ( 1797) in French territory. In 1798, the then new French administrative structure was introduced, Baldringen belonged to the Canton Saar castle of the Department of the Saar.
