Baldwin of Lannoy

Baudouin de Lannoy (* 1388 in Henin- Beaumont, † 1474 Huppaye ) was the ambassador of Philip the Good in Henry V of England.

Life

Baudouin de Lannoy was the progenitor of Flemish noble family Lannoy. In his first marriage Bauduin VI de Henin- Liétard was married to Jacqueline de Lannoy. His marriage to Adrienne de Berlaymont Lord of Molembais went Philippine and Baudouin II de Lannoy forth. Among his descendants Charles de Berlaymont Claude de Berlaymont and be counted.

Baudouin de Lannoy was taken in November 1431 in the Order of the Golden Fleece, on this occasion he was by Jan van Eyck in a purple jacket with gold brocade, which he had obtained in 1427 by Philip the Good, portrays. Baudouin de Lannoy was Ambassador to the Court of St James's, when the " press photographer " Jan van Eyck was also accredited as Ambassador in London.
