Bale Mountains vervet

The Bale- Vervet monkey ( Chlorocebus djamdjamensis ) is a primate of the family Cercopithecidae ( Cercopithecidae ). It is one of six species in the African green monkeys are distinguished in recent classifications.

The fur of the Bale- vervet monkeys is dark brown in color and significantly denser than that of the other vervet monkeys. The hands and feet are dark gray. The face is dark and characterized by his white beard and a narrow white stripe over eyes.

This primate species is found only in Ethiopia, their range is limited to the Bale Mountains and adjacent areas to the east of the Ethiopian Region Oromia.

Little is known about the habits of these animals, they probably largely agrees with that of other vervet monkeys. Consequently, they are semi- terrestrial ( they talk to each other on the ground and on the trees ) and diurnal. You are likely in larger groups of several males, many females and the common offspring live. They are omnivorous, taking mainly fruits, shoots and other parts of plants, but also insects to him.

Little is known about their level of danger, the IUCN lists them " there is insufficient data".
