Balezino

Balesino (Russian Балезино ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Udmurtia (Russia) with 16,121 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located some 150 km ( straight line ) north of the capital of Republic of Izhevsk on the left bank of the Vyatka Creek Tschepza.

Balesino is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons Balesino.

History

The settlement Balesino emerged at the end of the 19th century in connection with the construction of the railway line Perm - Vyatka Kotlas. The train station and the resulting order settlement were named after the elderly, the same village, a few kilometers north ( downstream ) is located on the opposite, right bank of the Tschepza. As a founding year is 1897; the entire railway line was opened in 1899 and later part of the main route of the Trans -Siberian Railway.

1938, the status of an urban-type settlement was awarded.

Culture and sights

Since 2000 it has Balesino in a small museum. In the area there are several archaeological sites; in several surrounding villages are churches ( Nowowolkowo, Kammennoje Sadelje ) and mosques ( Padera, Kestym ) obtained from the 19th and early 20th century.

Economy and infrastructure

Balesino is important railway station on the main route of the Trans -Siberian Railway ( 1192 line kilometers from Moscow). Here all trains have a longer stay for locomotive changes, since the coming of the West, operated by the Gorkier railway with 25 kV 50 Hz AC section ends; the route to the east in the direction of Perm and Yekaterinburg is 3000 V DC electrification (from 1220 kilometers operated by the Sverdlovsk Railway, whose locomotives go but up Balesino ). About twenty miles to the east, at Pibanschur, also branches off the cross connection on Izhevsk to Agrys on the parallel route Moscow -Kazan - Ekaterinburg, for Balesino is also separation station.

To the west of the settlement leads the regional road R321 von Glasow by Igra past, where connection is made to the M7- Zweigstrecke Kazan Izhevsk Perm.
