Balingen

Balingen is a town in southern Baden -Württemberg, about 70 km south- southwest of Stuttgart. It is the county seat and to Albstadt the second largest city of the Zollernalb district and forms a center for the surrounding communities. Since January 1, 1974 Balingen is large district. Geography

Geographical location

Balingen is on the edge of the Swabian Alb in the Valley of Eyach, a tributary of the Neckar. The city is surrounded by the so-called Balinger mountains, including the Plettenberg, the Sheep Mountain and the punching ( with hole stone and hole Hornle ). Boroughs

The city consists of the core city and neighborhoods Dürrwangen, Endingen, Engstlatt, Erzingen, Frommern, Heselwangen, East Village, Roßwangen, Stockhausen, brushing, Weilstetten and Zillhausen, with most of these neighborhoods were incorporated only in the context of local government reform in the 1970s to Balingen. History

Mayor

Natural Monuments

In Zillhausener waterfall of handmade paper stream tumbles down a total of 26 meters into a ravine, 17 meters in free fall. The waterfall is accessible from a parking lot below Zillhausen via a staircase. A smaller waterfall is located two kilometers south of the Wannental above Stockhausen.
