Baliny

Baliny ( German Ballin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-west of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Baliny is located in the valley of the river Balinka in Krischanauer Bergland ( Křižanovská Highlands ) in the south of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the northwest, the Kopaniny rises (530 m). The village is situated in the natural park Balinské 's Valley. To the west are the ponds Velky and Maly fishpond fishpond.

Neighboring towns are Svařenov and Hrbov in the north, America and Velké Meziříčí in the northeast, Oslavice in the east, in the southeast Ovčírna, Oslavička in the south, Nový Telečkov the southwest, Horni Heřmanice and Horni Radslavice in the west and Uhřínov in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Baliny was in 1317, when the church of St. Nicholas in Meziříčí acquired three hooves of the village. In the 14th century consisted in Baliny a farm and a mill. 1358 sold Henry of Balinka the preferred right of Balinka Vorwerk Balinka with all accessories to Zdich of Kozlov. 1407 bought by Matěj Baliny both the village Baliny and Balinka. 1415 was one of Matěj Baliny signatory to a written protest Moravian nobleman, which asked for the release of Jan Hus in Constance. At the end of the 15th century Balinky has been connected to the rule Velké Meziříčí. After 1600, passed in Baliny with the Upper and Lower Mill two mills that utilize the water power of the Balinka.

In the 19th century high damage was done in Baliny by five major fires. In this marked by disasters century, the village was still haunted by four floods and crop failures. After the abolition of patrimonial Balín formed in 1850 a district of the political community Uhřínov in the District team Velké Meziříčí. 1908 was the community Baliny. At the beginning of 1961 Baliny was assigned to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. Between 1980 and 1991 the village was incorporated to Velké Meziříčí. Since 1 January 1992 the municipality Baliny there again.
