Balisto

Balisto is a sweet chocolate bar sales of the company Mars Incorporated. Usually, there are two, six, or nine bars in a package that together weigh 37 g, 111 g or 166.5 g. Balisto is sold on the European market since 1981.

The bolt is since summer 2011, the first fully certified to sustainability chocolate bar on the German market.

Variations

Balisto is produced in the variations (as of 1/2013 ):

  • Grain mix
  • Yogurt Berry Mix
  • Strawberry yoghurt mix
  • Honey Almond Mix

However, not all variations are offered in each country of distribution. In the 1990s, at times even a variant with speculoos taste was produced.

Ingredients and Nutritional Information of variant muesli mix

A latch has the following ingredients (by weight largest shares first): sugar, textured vegetable fat, oatmeal, whole wheat flour, raisins, cocoa butter, wheat flour, skimmed milk powder, cocoa mass, whole milk powder, milk sugar, hazelnuts, butter oil, Demineralized whey powder, skim milk yogurt powder, salt, emulsifier: soy lecithin, raising agent: sodium bicarbonate, flavoring.

A bolt Balisto muesli mix ( 18.5 g) according to the manufacturer has a nutritional value (calorific value) of 394 kJ (94 kcal ) and contains 11.8 g carbohydrates ( 1.2 KE; 1 BE), (of which 8.2 g sugar), 1.4 g protein and 4.9 g fat.

Criticism

Balisto contains 42 % sugar and is therefore classified as a normal candy. Although other bars often contain more sugar (eg Mars with almost 69 % ), this is in contrast to the original application, where the bolt because it was touted as a healthy ballaststoffhaltig. The prescribed in the UK since 2004 Traffic light the data are colored red to fat and sugar on the packaging of Balisto bars, indicating a high content.
