The Greek hospital Balıklı ( Turkish Özel Balıklı Rum Hastanesi, Greek Ελληνικό Νοσοκομείο Βαλουκλή ) is a health care institution in the neighborhood Balıklı the district Yedikule in the district of Zeytinburnu Istanbul, Turkey, which was founded in the 18th century and operated by the Greek community in Turkey is.

History

The Greek hospital Balıklı was originally established in 1753 by an Ottoman government edict as Yedikule Hospital. The hospital was founded and built by the Union of Greek grocer. The immediate goal of the hospital was to assist in the control of epidemics and common diseases. However, the hospital was heavily damaged in a 1790 fire, which destroyed completely the structure. It was rebuilt in 1793 with substantial participation of Patriarch Neophytos VIII.
