Ballerina Girl is a song by Lionel Richie, which was produced in collaboration with James Anthony Carmichael. It was published on 19 December 1986 on the album Dancing on the Ceiling and Richie was thirteenth and thus last top ten hit in the U.S.. Internationally, there was, like his predecessor Love Will Conquer All only moderately successful.
The song tells of the love of the lyric ego to a ballet dancer. The corresponding music video you can see Richie on the piano in a ballet school, while young ballet students dance.
