Ballerup Municipality

Ballerup Kommune [ balʔəʀob ] is a Danish municipality in the Capital Region. Covering an area of ​​34.00 km ² there (as of 1 January 2013) live 48 211 inhabitants.

The office is situated in the town of Ballerup, part of the settlement area Hovedstadsområdet. Other important places are Måløv and Skovlunde.

In Ballerup the medical technology company Ambu, the pharmaceutical company LEO Pharma and the confectionery manufacturer Toms groups are located.

Sports

In the district Skovlunde the " Idrætsby Ballerup Sports Center " is located at the Ballerup Super Arena opened in 2001. The Arena is home to the only velodrome Denmark; it was designed by architect Ralph Schuermann Münster. In the " Super Arena " twice UCI Track World Championships were held in 2002 and 2010, and European Championships (2006) and World Cup races. There also Six Days are held each year.
