Ballindalloch

Ballindalloch (Gaelic: Baile na Dàlach ) is a village in the Scottish unitary authority Moray. It is scattered west of the River Avon about 11 km southwest of Aberlour and 18 km north-east of Grantown- on-Spey. The River Spey is approximately 1.5 km northwest.

In Ballindalloch Ballindalloch Castle is located. The castle dates back to 1546 and stands near the confluence of the rivers Spey and Avon. Once the village had its own railway station on the Strathspey Railway. Also, the Speyside Way walking through Ballindalloch.

Ballindalloch is surrounded by the major whiskey Speyside and is the site of five active distilleries Cragganmore, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet and Tomintoul Tamnavulin. In addition, there were two more with Auchorachan and Glenavon, but in the meantime abandoned distilleries in the municipality.
