Balmer (crater)

Balmer is an impact crater on the eastern limb of the Moon front, east of Mare Fecunditatis, northeast of the crater Petavius ​​and northwest of Humboldt. The crater wall has disappeared in the north, otherwise moderately eroded. The crater interior is flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 by the Swiss mathematician and physicist Johann Jakob Balmer.
