Balneario Camboriu - founded on July 20, 1964 - is one of 1,898 high-rise buildings influenced coastal city in Brazil. The city is located in the state of Santa Catarina, 80 km north of the capital, Florianópolis, and has 99 493 inhabitants (2008 ).

For the season, from Christmas to Carnival and October for Oktoberfest in Blumenau located 80 km away, the population of Balneario Camboriu is growing by about 600,000 people on a multiple of the actual population. A majority of the guests come from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. Here are the world's only cable car, which connects two beaches.

On a hill behind the town a 33m high statue Touristenkomlex with the Cristo Luz ( the Christ statue in Rio de Janeiro similar) was built in 1997.

Main attractions are the beaches. Situated in a bay city beach is about 8 km long. There are also many smaller beaches, for example Laranjeiras, Estaleiro or Pinho, Brazil's first official nudist beach.

Traffic

The nearest airports are those of Navegantes ( 10 km) and Florianópolis.

Bus there (partly via São Paulo) in all major cities in Brazil as well as directly to Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.

Balneario Camboriu has a good infrastructure and has a hospital.
