Balthasar is a first name Babylonian- Hebrew origin. It means " Baal / God save his life " or " Baal / God Save the King ", derived from Belshazzar. Baal means as much as "lord" or " master."

Balthasar is in the Greek version of the Old Testament, the Septuagint, as epithet of the prophet Daniel called ( Dan 10.1 EU).
