Baltiysky District, Kaliningrad Oblast
The Rajon bordering the Baltic Sea in the west and the Vistula Lagoon in the east. In the north there is a limit to Rajon Selenogradsk. The Russian part of the Vistula Spit is located in the area of Rajons.
The Rajon Baltijsk consists of two urban communities and a rural community, which include the two cities Baltijsk and Primorsk and ten other settlements.
The city was Baltijsk 1947-1996 administrative law in a territory that was placed under the city until 1992, by a Soviet city from 1992 to 1996, the urban baltijsker Administration. This territory included the land between the Buchta Primorskaya (fish Hausener Wiek ) and the Baltic Sea and the Russian part of the Vistula Spit. In 1996, the county was founded Baltijsk (Russian Балтийский городской округ, Baltijski Gorodskoi okrug ), were incorporated into the the town of Primorsk and other settlements.
After several attempts in 2004 the reorganization had failed in the context of local government until 2007, the county was given the status of a " municipal " Rajons (Russian Балтийский mуниципальный район, Baltijski munizipalny rayon ) in 2008. In 2010, the administrative- territorial Rajon was also established (Russian Балтийский административный район, Baltijski administratiwny rayon ).
