Balykchy
Balyktschy ( kirgis. Балыкчы ) is a city in Kyrgyzstan. It is located in the territory of Issyk Kul.
Geography
Balyktschy located in the northeast of Kyrgyzstan, on the western shore of the Issyk Kul, near the border with Kazakhstan.

The population of Balyktschy is 45 102 ( 2005).
Population Development
History
The beginnings of the town date back to 1871 when a small post settlement was established on the road from Bishkek to Karakol. With the developing of fishing time Batschino place indicated continued to grow. He got the name Rybatschje, and 1954 the municipal law, he was awarded. In 1989 the company was renamed in Issyk Kul. Finally, in 1991 the town received its present name.
Economy
Balyktschy is a port city, accordingly, the shipbuilding industry plays an important role. A further industry is, inter alia, the food industry. There is a rail link with Bishkek.
Culture
Balyktschy a museum in honor of the geographer Pyotr Petrovich Semenov - Tyan- Shansky.
