Bambecque

Bambecque, Dutch Bambeke, is a commune with 739 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. In Bambecque West Flemish is spoken.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the Yser Bambecque in French Flanders, about 20 kilometers southeast of Dunkerque ( Dunkirk ) in the far north of France. In the east, the municipality borders on Belgium (municipalities Alveringem and Poperinge ).

To Bambecque part of the district Kruystraete.

Neighboring communities of Bambecque are Rexpoëde in the north, Oost -Cappel and Alveringem in the northeast, Poperinge in the east, in the southeast Houtkerque, Herzeele in the south, Wormhout in the Southwest and West -Cappel in the northwest.
